An Earth Science CSI Kit developed by Dr. Mike Reynolds and distributed by numerous Science Supply education companies!
A well-liked amateur earth scientist is found dead in the desert. Is his untimely death a matter of cosmic forces or are there other individuals who may be involved in his demise? In this kit, students will follow the story line and perform five simple CSI-type tests to determine the nature of the crime scene and the death of a local citizen. An ideal way to bring the excitement of earth science, forensic chemistry, and testing together to make science more relevant to students.
Kit includes six small magnets, six meteorite samples, nitric acid, sodium thiocyanate, micro slides, stirring stick, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, dimethyl glyoxime, six blood samples with micro slides, anti-A serum, anti-B serum, and anti-Rh serum. Grades 6-12.
